Unexpected 'Wows"

    Jun 28, 2016 | by Brad Sumner

This weekend, we printed up a missions update that contained the following news from Gary & Betty...

"On the Ministry Front. Gary has been counseling several Muslim Background Believers (MBBs) over the past several months. One of them is enrolled in ACTS in preparation for future pastoral ministry. Gary has also been mentoring and counseling candidates for long term church planting ministry in the Muslim world and one anticipating an internship with one of our overseas teams. However, several of our prospective candidates have decided to take different paths, not ones that involve Muslim ministry. These I consider successes too—assisting them to determine and follow God’s path for them.

On the Home Front. Since mid-March Betty’s broken ankle has been healing, rapidly for such an injury. In the meantime, God has been working in our grandchildren’s lives. For example, our eldest granddaughter is reconciling with family members and has been going to a local church and volunteering in two of their ministries. This is a big “wow” for us all. And we’re looking forward to seeing our son at the end of August and again in October. This is so big for us. Also for two weeks this summer Betty and I will be vacationing in Newfoundland  and visiting my sister there. We’ve never been to NL before. Another “wow”.
