Staff Position Profile 

Job Title: Director of Student Ministries 

Supervisor: JRCC Lead Pastor

Revision Date: As at May 14, 2024 

Hours of Work: 15 hours per week 

Position Overview  

Our ministry to students at Jericho Ridge strives to make and grow disciples of those who are in Grade 8  up till their graduation from college or university (approx. ages 13-23). Through various relational and  programmatic environments, students and leaders are challenged to live a life that exhibits a deep love  for God and has an impact on the world around them. 

Position Objectives 

  • Helping students take positive next steps toward Jesus and toward adulthood. 
  • Identifying and creating opportunities for students to explore what it means to love justice and  mercy through fostering opportunities for service both locally and globally. 
  • Coordinating activities for students that help them develop a vibrant and growing faith Cultivating spaces for students to engage with Scripture and learn how to apply it to their lives. Providing fun, active, and safe learning environments that students want to attend & bring  friends to. 
  • Other responsibilities as delegated by the Lead Pastor and/or Senior Pastoral Staff 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Giving leadership to JRCC student ministry programs. 

o Facilitate mid-week gatherings for grade 8-12 students (partnered with Young Life) o Outreach work at local schools (partnered with Young Life) 

  • Working with the Lead Pastor to ensure coordinated ministry with the JRCC staff team. Recruiting, equipping and leading a volunteer ministry team. 
  • Coordinating special student ministry-focused activities & events (such as grad banquets,  mission trips) 

Job Requirements  

  • Evidence of a committed and growing relationship with Jesus Christ 
  • Ability to work in a highly adaptive, self-directed, environment 
  • Experience leading an outwardly-focused student ministry environment in a church or ministry  setting 
  • Experience recruiting, training & coordinating volunteers 
  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate ministry programs 
  • Commitment to the Canadian Conference of MB Church’s Statement of Faith and JRCC’s stated  vision, core values and ministry plan
