It's been a while since we've given you and update on what is going on with our partnership in Guatemala. Even though we didn't send a team in 2022, you were still part of changing lives. Earlier this year, we raised and sent money down to our in-country ministry partner, Bethel Ministries International. They were able to hire locals who were able to complete a house build for a family in need. Here is their report:
"The house was built for Norma and Jorge's family in a coastal town called Tiquisate, so it took a little bit to coordinate. They are so happy and thankful for their new home, especially since it protects them from the rain now! I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but one whole side of their old house was just open to their neighbor's brick wall, built as close as they could get to have some protection. They didn't have enough materials to build another "wall" so this was their best solution before we were able to build them a fully enclosed home."
"The wheelchair distribution was here in Chimaltenango, since we had so many people nearby waiting for new chairs, and we were able to get it together quickly because of it. That day we were able to give out 60 wheelchairs - 50 from you guys and an additional 10 from our Miracle Mobility program! We appreciate you all and the effort you put into fundraising to bless so many people down here. We're also very appreciative of the donors at Jericho Ridge who gave to help change so many lives! Thank you, thank you!" - Emily Mooney

We are also exploring the possibility of sending a team to Guatemala over March break 2023. If you would like to find out more about being part of this life-changing project where we distribute wheelchairs and build a home, we are having an information session following the gathering this Sunday, Dec 18 in the Lounge.
