Fuel Monday Changes. Update on First Ukulele lesson

by Ruth Ellen Crossley on September 17, 2023

Hello Fuel Families,

It was great to see many of you today at JRCC's Kick off lunch. We had a blast today in class with Rose learning some basics about the Ukulele. We even learned two chords! We've bought about 7 Ukelale's and borrowed a couple more. So we are excited to start learning to play them during our Sunday program time. Its new to me to so we're just jumping in to figure it out together.

Monday Postponed:

A couple quick updates. After chatting with a number of you and the kids it looks like most everyone is pretty packed tomorrow night and won't be able to make it to the Monday Fuel Fun night where we were going to make Marshmallow Launchers. So we'll save that event for another evening TBD when more of you can join in.

Lazer Tag: tentative plan

I have been talking with Kim Olynyk who is part of the Meadows church plant near us. They have a group of kids in the Grade 5-6 range and are trying to also create some community for them as well. So we're looking at doing a joint Lazer Tag event on Sept 28th (Thursday) where we can combine forces and create a fun space for the kids there. It is tentative at this point as we are just trying to sort out availability on that day. But you can let me know if the 28th is doable sometime between 4-7pm and we'll try to confirm soon one way or the other as we get details sorted.

Transportation and Carpooling:

As I talk to many of you I am very aware of how much juggling we're all doing. Some of us live quite close to one another or are passing each other on the way to JRCC. I'm open to seeing if we can figure out some ways to help carpool or share the 'driving' load. So let's keep the dialogue open and if a ride is the only issue for your child being able to attend, please reach out and we'll see if we can make something work. I can't guarantee it will always work out, but I'm hopeful we can find a way to help our kids still come if they want to. I'm grateful to be able to continue to work with you all at finding and creating spaces for our kids to gather, have fun, and dig into Faith with one another.

Hope you're all able to get some good rest after a busy two weeks of back to school.
