God has called us to GO into all the world. We work in partnership with the following organizations and people to take the whole gospel to the whole person (please note that some organizations and people are unnamed due to security precautions).
Danny & April Ferguson
Danny is the Langley director for Youth Unlimited. His team's goal (which includes several people from JRCC) is to create a safe place where young people can develop physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Danny meets and mentors students, many who attend Langley Meadows and R.E. Mountain Secondary.

2010 Mission Opportunities
March 2010 - Guatemala Wheelchair Distribution
Team Jericho will be in Guatemala from March 6-13, 2010. This team of 11 (Curtis, Sue, Rachel, and Ben Cottrell; Bryan Reddekopp; Jeff Hunt; Derek and Nowel Rogusky; Dennis Walde; Brian Cool; Aaron Franson) will represent our church community, supporting our partners there to show God's love by distributing wheelchairs, building houses, and taking food to needy families.
It is shocking to find that only 8 hours away from our own comfortable homes there lies a beautiful country filled with ancient Mayan treasures and a modern capital, intertwined with neighbourhoods of corn stock huts, where children 12 years old and younger leave school to work long hours in towns and fields to feed their families; where there is often no running water and open fires are used to cook a meagre daily meal; where more than half of the country’s citizens live below the poverty line with few support systems to help those with physical disabilities and medical needs. Guatemala is a country where prejudice, superstition, and inequality follow those who suffer.
Providing wheelchairs, an unattainable dream for many, effects whole families. A child can gain their sense of self worth and personal mobility. An adult with mobility can provide for their family or at least relieve the burden of constant care, maybe for the first time in their lives!
In Matthew 25:36-40 our Lord called each of us to serve the orphans and widows, the sick and poor, and we hope that someday you too may represent Him in the streets and villages in Guatemala. We are blessed to have trustworthy partners in Guatemala and a church supporting this endeavour. His beautiful children with names like Maria, Jo Jo, Hector, Fernando, and Florinda thank you for the difference you make in their lives.
This year our church is working together as a unified team to provide the following:
- Distribution of 60 wheelchairs ($75 USD each) = $4500 USD
- Building materials for two houses:
- House 1: Prefab house, metal frame, glass windows and door with handle = $2000 USD
- House 2: Simple wood frame, corrugated metal home = $1000 USD
- Two sets of bunk beds = $400 USD for the 2 houses
- Food and clothing for 12 families = $400 USD
- Hygiene kits = $200 USD
- Special outing for kids from the Hermano Pedro Orphanage = $100 USD
- Shipping Costs for wheelchairs = $700
Your gift will have an immediate impact! You can designate funds towards any of these items by indicating “Guatemala 2010” and the specific area of interest on your JRCC offering envelope (not on your cheque).
