A Warm Welcome & A Fond Farewell

One of the unique things about Jericho is that we are not just a place people come to; we are a place that people go out from.  Over the last 13 years, we have sent out 12 missionaries! This means that we are frequently saying goodbye to people whom God is calling to other parts of the globe.  After sharing life together for two years, we recently said goodbye to the Workman family who are heading to South Africa to serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators as project consultants.

They recently wrote this beautiful paragraph about their time with us here at Jericho:

"We are so thankful that [a friend] invited us to Jericho Ridge on our first Sunday in Langley. Jericho is the one thing that we will miss most about living in Langley. We've never been to a church quite like Jericho before. Not only are the people wonderful, but...the elder team's leadership is so clear and thoughtful. Every part of the church is treated with such care, and it was a pleasure to serve in the areas we did. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly!"

We are sad to see them leave but we know that the need for the Bible to be translated into the various heart-languages of people throughout southern Africa is immense and Jesse and their whole family will be instrumental in that important work.  They will be taking a vision trip July 4-12 so please be in prayer for them as they travel.
